Feline tooth resorption in dogs

Feline tooth resorption is a common condition in cats where the tooth structure breaks down, leading to the destruction of the tooth. The exact cause of tooth resorption is unknown, but it’s believed to be related to inflammation or immune system response.

Tooth resorption is much less common in dogs. There are many other more common dental conditions that dogs experience, such as periodontal disease, tooth root abscesses, gingivitis, and malocclusion. You can read more about dental problems and preventative health care in the Pet Health Index.
